Marton Church in Cheshire

Marton Church Services

Because our Vicar and Readers serve four churches our services vary from Sunday to Sunday,
but we keep a more or less regular pattern each month as below.

Service Times

1st Sunday: 11a.m. Family Communion - this is a modern language communion service for all ages.  Younger children use a creche area at the back of the church.  The service lasts about an hour and is followed by refreshments.

2nd Sunday: 9 a.m. Holy Communion - this is a short modern language communion service and usually lasts about 40 minutes.

3rd Sunday: On the third Sunday every month there is a service at 6.30pm - Compline Communion.  This is a beautiful, reflective service with communion, which usually lasts 30-40 minutes.

4th Sunday: 9 a.m. Holy Communion - this is a communion service according to the traditional Book of Common Prayer.  There are no hymns; service lasts 25-30 minutes.

If there is a fifth Sunday in the month we share a service with other local parishes – often having the service in our School Hall in Marton at 10 a.m.

We also have special services for Christmas, Easter, Plough Sunday, the Marton Wakes and Harvest.
